She didnât need to be empathic to sense Yardanâs emotions. She could see it in a thousand tiny details, from the hard line of his jaw to the gleam of his golden skin, a sure sign he was agitated.
The moment they touched down, he shrugged out of the restraints and was on his feet. Once she stood, he caught her hand in his and drew her along behind him. She barely had time to call out a thank you to Bitan before they were down a short ramp and back on the snowy tarmac.
She drew in a deep lungful of air. âHome,â she said softly. âI never knew home had a scent before, but it does.â
Yardan growled something unintelligible, which was hard to do around someone with her enhanced hearing.
âWhat was that?â
âThe only thing I can sense right now is you.â He stopped suddenly and before she knew it, heâd pulled her into his arms.
He caught her chin in one hand and tipped her head up as he brought his mouth crashing down on hers. It wasnât a kiss this time. It was a soul-searing declaration of need that made her body hum from her lips to the tips of her toes.
His fingers tangled in her hair as his tongue brushed across the seam of her lips, seeking entrance.
She gave in with a soft moan, leaning into his strength and letting him take control.
âHold on.â
She barely had time to register his words and react before he unfurled his wings and launched them into the air. His mouth never left hers, his arms locked around her like iron bars. She took advantage of their positions to wrap her legs around his hips. That pressed her aching pussy against the hard ridge of his cock, and Yardan loosed an explosive curse at the unexpected contact. The rhythm of his wingbeats stuttered for a moment, and then they were climbing even faster.
The wind tore at her clothes and skin with icy talons, but she barely noticed. How could she when the heat between them was hotter than any star?
Mouths mated and bodies grinding against each other, he carried her away.
She had no idea where they were going. Nor did she care. All she needed was for him to keep kissing her.
Well, not all she needed. But it was enough for now.
They soared over the city, but this time she didnât spare a thought for the view, or the incredible joy of being airborne.
By the time he landed again, she was half wild with needs she hadnât been able to slake while heâd carried her.
The moment she was out of his arms and back on her feet, she caught hold of his shirt in her fists and tore it, baring his chest completely.
He growled and dropped his hands to her hips, guiding her as he pushed her backward until she hit something solid.
A wall. A familiar wall. They were in her backyard.
âYou brought me home?â she asked when she next had breath to speak.
âYes. Home.
